Ironically, this was probably hit while picking at some other roadkill. Any ornithologists out there care to identify (Lanie, I'm looking at you...)?
Okay, seriously, wtf? No body, no nothin'.
Any minute now, it'll jump up and start singing...
*idea for this photo essay graciously borrowed from the illustrious Ms. Katherine.

That had me cracking up and feeling especially guilty for it...
ReplyDeleteGive me a call as soon as you stop at a phone and/or are thinking about calling anyone. Put me at the top of your list. I got things to say. Call me collect, even.

about the bird... how big is it? it doesn't quite look big enough, but otherwise mostly looks like a harlans hawk (like a red tail, but without the red tail). they're not common and hard to identify because there are light ones and dark ones and they interbreed, creating many interesting color patterns. and it's summer so they should all be up in canada by now. but if it was hawk-like, the light coloring with darker band across its middle and dark wing tips is pretty characteristic. (or maybe i'm just making shit up... you never know ;)
ReplyDeletethe whole post reminds me of a photo i have from my first road trip years ago... my staunchly vegan hunt-sabateur traveling companion standing next to an enormous dumpster in Louisiana that was painted in appropriately enormous red letters that said "NO DEAD ANIMALS"
yum.
ReplyDeleteHey! So your bass didn't come with a case, so it would be very difficult to transport back and forth. So....I want to take your electric. I'll take good care of it, and I'm leaving tomorrow so if you have a problem with it, let me know by tomorrow!
ReplyDeleteAnd these pictures are....disgusting. The rabbit head was the worst!!!
Hope you're staying hydrated and healthy!!!
Ha! Funny! Sick, but funny!
ReplyDeleteStop by Michigan!
